The music is CLASSIC! It's awesome. Reminds me of the Twilight Zone haha. Which I guess is what you guys were going for. Thumbs up to everybody who worked on this :) It made my night better haha.

how do you edit stop motion?
  • The Old Mill plus 2 years ago
We do it by importing the photos in their original order into a non-linear editing program like Final Cut Pro as 1 frame each. You can vary this frame rate according to the action or style your going for. You can then treat this timeline full of stills like normal footage -although sometimes it helps to add a step and turn each shot into self-contained movie clips first so you dont have each individual frame sitting separately in the timeline (it will essentially end up looking the same as any other project).

    I hope that helps...?

Very cool! Lot of great choices in the music, actor, as everyone said. I like the neat POV when he's reaching for his drink. Super job.

This is so well done. Great concept and execution. How many stills per second were used?
  • The Old Mill plus 2 years ago
I can't actually remember. I'm pretty sure it varied shot to shot between 6/s and 25/s I think most of it was 12 or 25 though.

loved it. great, creative choices in sound and composition. how did you do the "inside the VCR" shot?
  • The Old Mill plus 2 years ago
    Ah, fancy 80s technology!
If you look at 0:36 you'll see that the tray actually pops up above the machine so you can slide the tape in. Sneaky.
