Performance, Saturday 30 May at David Cunningham Projects, San Francisco. Curated by Anne Colvin.

Improvised texts from the Dada, a review on the French neo-Fluxus artist Jimmy Robert, Fall lyrics, notes on shyness, Marcel Duchamp, St Anthony and jokes on mental health. Accompanied by The Shyness Compendium booklet, with notes on verbal, emotional and sexual abuse.

I Am Kurious Orange is an exhibition, a rehearsal, a residency and a one night final performance conceived specifically for the DCP project space. Inspired by the long-term creative association between dancer Michael Clark (Scotland) and U.K. band The Fall (lead by Mark E. Smith) the exhibition takes it’s initial cues from the Clark/ Fall collaboration on the ballet ‘I am Curious, Orange’ and the accompanying soundtrack, released under the title ‘I am Kurious Oranj’.

Each week a different lead artist and collaborators will use the front room as a rehearsal space - responding through voice, music, text, objects and video to various elements within the show.

I Am Kurious Orange will culminate on May 30th in a one night production in three acts building on the rehearsals and material developed by each lead artist. The last night of the exhibition will transform into a live collage of costume, idiosyncrasies and extravaganzas.
