Show Us Yer Junk was a collaboration between Liza Harvey and myself which was shown on King George Square, Brisbane, from the 3rd-25th August 2010 for Public Realm’s exhibition ‘Cubed’.

The installation had a typographical focus, and was made from receipts collected from the public. An ongoing tally of money spent was also shown on the cube, which was equal to the receipts that were on the inside. The total amount of receipts tallied at the end of the installation was $18,865.46.

The concept behind this project was to increase public awareness on how much money we as a society waste on things that are not always necessary. We felt that the best way to highlight this was to try and create an interactive art piece that relied on public contributions.
