High up in the rural Ecuadorian Andes, the Lovett School in Atlanta, Georgia, owns over 800 acres of pristine cloud forest on the side of a volcano called Siempre Verde. The Lovett School purchased the land 20 years ago in order to preserve the endangered cloud forest in perpetuity from development and agriculture. Each year they take students down to the property to teach them about conservation...and life.
Last summer I went down there to create a short documentary piece for the 20th anniversary gala/fundraiser. The experience was incredible, and although this piece is very much geared towards the school's mission and 20th anniversary celebration, I hope to one day return and dig deeper into the culture and create a more extensive piece on the region known as Intag.
Shot on Canon XH-A1.
