I've been in Peru several times over the last years, while filming some of my documentaries, until the Italian NGO Gruppo Volontariato Civile GVC hired me for the first time to record an institutional film about alpaqueros, alpaca herders, with whom they were carrying out some projects.
So I moved Apurimac department, which is the second poorest of Peru, famous for its green valleys and high lands.
It is important to highlight that the economic and structural conditions in which communities are organized around these places are extreme and difficult.
At first I could not understand where all this awareness of cooperativism came from, until one day, asking one of the interviewees answered that "the issue is that the cooperative here, is very familiar to people in the field because it is very similar to our ancestral forms of organization".
