So this was an attempt to simulate 8 millions of particles with glu3d gpu. Total number of frames for 8 millions particles to simulated is 400. But I stopped simulation at frame 252 and that frame total amount of particles was 3.9 millions. Total time estimated for 400 frames and 8 millions particles was 15 hours. So it's possible to simulate more particles with glu3d gpu current version. and 8 millions particles used 1GB vram of GTX 580.
Rendered with iRay in 3ds max 2013 with 3 mins per frame time; I used iRay layered material which gave nice SSS effect in water. I could had used more time per frame to reduce flickering.
