On a Friday morning in September, I drove the Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway (Highway 14A) to the Spearfish Canyon Lodge where I turned left onto Roughlock Falls Road. The Falls itself is a two-mile ride down a dirt road that passes through ruggedly beautiful terrain. The Black Hills have a variety of terrain and I certainly didn't get the chance to see it all during by brief stay. Of the places I did see, I found Spearfish Canyon and especially the area around Roughlock Falls to be incredibly inviting and a feast for the eyes. For this video, I tried to capture a bit of the beauty around the Falls.
