I am totally into birds, jsut not the feathered variety, they scare the shit out of me, all to do with my parents letting me watch the birds as a young child.
The flashing is an RGB split done with a plug in for after effects called "twitch" from videocopilot, it's a pretty nifty wee thing, does loads of cool stuff with colour,scale, light and what have you

last time a bird pooped on me was when I was 13 and I was walking to school and it was school photo day, so that sucked big time. BIRDS ARE EVIL

The only special fx are slowing it down/speeding it up and adding the twitch to get the RGB split. i'm glad you liked it. Many people have tried getting me over my fear of birds, but it just doesn't work, I still end up screaming with my heart racing faster than I could ever run. They even freaked me out from inside the car...lol. sad innit
