Mother and child brown bears hang out in a tree in Chautauqua Park in Boulder, Colorado, Oct. 1, 2012. Later in the evening, they descend, in fits and starts, and sniff about the park. In the background you can hear many people who know nothing about bears talk about what the bears are up to. At the end, the mother bear faces the crowd of onlookers (including me) and I take leave. In the end, all bears and people went home without incident.
And the video is dark because it was nighttime.
