The first in a series of symposia commemorating the bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the Creek War of 1813-4 was held on Saturday, August 25 in the Special Collections and Archives Department of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library. "...Toward a Larger Stage: The War of 1812, the Creek War and the Idea of America,” focused on the pivotal events of two hundred years ago in Alabama, the Southeast, the United States, and the world.
