One of a few of my projects for my ACP non fiction class.

I am going to revisit this at some point and change it a bit, but i decided to upload it for now. Constructive criticism welcome.

Verry nice! What camera do you use?
  • Nilz 5 months ago
I use the Panasonic DVX100b with a cinevate brevis 35mm adapter. Its not an HD camera, I just upscaled it for the upload to get full quality. Wasn't expecting to be put on the official vimeo hd channel :x

I like it! It's like a 'genre' photography that I really appreciate. The soundtrack is great, could you tell me who is the composer?

    great short movie :)
  • Jrbazil 5 months ago
The sound track is by Boards of Canada.
  • Nilz 5 months ago
Yeah, the soundtrack is actually made up of two separate 'boards of cananda' songs looped
  • Denys Zaikin 4 months ago
I've listened to some their songs but I still can't find the two tracks used in this movie. Do you know the titles?
  • Nilz 4 months ago
The main loop is 'Concourse' from the album 'Box Maxima' and the more ambient track is 'Ataronchronon' in the album 'The Campfire Headphase'

My favorite albums are 'Box Maxima', 'The Campfire Headphase' and Their newest EP 'Trans Canada Highway' although plenty of their old stuff is good.

WOW - I was loving this and getting into it and then got chills as I realized that I know the people in the wedding and it's at Camp Sunrise! :) Small freakin universe! Is that the HVX? nice style and choice with Boards
  • Nilz 5 months ago
Indeed a small world :) were you perhaps at that wedding?

  • Really really great stuff. A very cool exploration of consciousness. I love your beginning + ending shots, and lot of stuff in between. Personally, I would have spent more time on color grading and correction. But it all still works together for what you're trying to do here. :D

    Suicidal atmosphere.
  • Nilz 5 months ago
Well, I hope not, I wouldn't say it is happy though.

Maybe I wasn't very specific. It's emotional and kind of from the ghost's point of view.

I enjoyed this piece... I think some color grading would add a lot to it.
  • Nilz 4 months ago
I am glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the feedback. Can you be more specific? Is it that the colors don't feel uniform enough, or that certain shots and sections look off to you (and/or could just be tweaked to look nicer)?

very, very fascinating. It took a minute or so, but after that I got really into it. For me, I think the naturalness of the coloring works very good. Could buy a dvx100 for just 100 euros a month ago, can't believe I didn't do that.

i think its very interesting! it shows that maybe, the same footage with different music, sets a whole diferent idea!

it seems happy and sad at the same time, like life...

    ....full circle...:O)
don't change it.....the intuitiveness in this footage is the best thing about it......time distance intervention would just ruin it.....it is really beautiful.....
