Today the Southport, North Carolina Fire Prevention Team shared their fire safety message with the children and teachers at The Southport Christian School. The team has been doing this for more than 30 years, teaching the children of Brunswick County what to do in case of fire. After the program the team leaders took a few minutes to talk about the program's history and the volunteers that make it happen.

For the film maker who may pass by, I shot the interview on a Sony FS100u with a Canon 85mm f1.2 lens. A Metabones Canon to E-mount adaptor made it possible to mount, focus, and control exposure on the Canon lens.

I used a matt in FCP7 to crop the 16 by 9 aspect ratio to 2.35 to 1 and did some minor color grading in Magic Bullet Looks. The clip was exported from FCP7 as a stand alone reference movie which was then taken into Quicktime 7 pro where it was cropped to 1920 by 816 before exporting to Vimeo.

I filmed the Fire Prevention program with 3 cameras, the FS100U mounting a 70 to 200 f2.8 lens, a Sony EX1, and a Canon 5D Markii and Ziess 50mm f1.2 lens on a Merlin Steadicam.

The show will be available in the near future.
