Why are the Jellies upside down? Crazy things. The vid is very clear. I need to take some vid with mine.
  •
  • Christian Coquet 5 months ago
Wow awesome, but its just me, or every time you zoom out there's a flickering...
  • planetMitch 5 months ago
If you download the full size, it doesn't seem to have a flicker that I can tell.
  •
  • Justin Gerard 5 months ago
Amazing video Kev, are those jellies? I've got a Canon EOS T1i, which is the same resolution, same video processor, and the video is SWEET, it's a couple hundred cheaper.

What type of lighting did you have for this?
  • planetMitch 5 months ago
looks like natural lighting from the aquarium.. the 5D mk ii does amazing things in very low light
  • Noah White plus 5 months ago
I was wondering about that. I have a 5D Mark II but haven't used the video features. I've seen some others that look fantastic as well. Time to start playing with it, just need more free time for it! BTW - your blog is a great resource, been there quite a bit.

I have the Nikon D90 which also shoots video. What's amazing about the dSLR's that do video is that the glass gives you such nice video quality. It makes up for bad lighting.
  •
  • Christian Evangelista 5 months ago
Wow. It still looks great even with disabled HD.

we just shot a television commercial with one of these babies. people are shooting music videos with them, too. quite an amazing SLR.

How much is it and how big is it. I like my flip HD
  • Todd Walker 5 months ago
It's a digital SLR so it's quite a bit bigger and a lot more expensive than your Flip -- around $3000 before you buy a lens to go on it:

As a former professional photog I have to 2 things two say: 1. Amazing camera, 2. No matter how good the camera is it doesn't make you a good photographer. Kev, You DEFINITELY have an excellent eye for subject matter and framing. Great job! Thanks for sharing the video.

Image looks incredible. Better than my Xh-A1! Unfortunately the 5D doesn't have all the manual features of my xha1, or else I'd say I'm making the switch. The 5D has a bigger sensor than the Red One doesn't it? Insane!
