This is a concept video for Sketch-a-move: A toy car that allows you to explore the unique relationships between small surface doodles and actual physical movements.

If you draw a circle on the top of the toy car, it will move in a circle. If you draw a complicated spiral, the car will move in a spiral.

The video visualises the varied experiences of interaction and scenarios of engagement.

i'm also curious about the ratio it uses, it's obviously not a 1:1 relationship.

To all the commenters who are claiming its not real or wondering how it works, its a concept video, they never said it was real.

Not being real should be proclaimed in the video description clearly, if so. Now it's misleading.
Pretty cool and fun anyways :) Good luck in manufacturing.

Thanks all for the comments and interest. This was an 'experience prototype' video made to visualise the interactions. Some time we also built a larger-scale 'working prototype'. Designing and sketching concepts in video help understand the experience of using the product.

this is a tottaly lie, the car was controlled with a magnet behind the table....
if you see the ramp test you will see how the car join the table so fast without rebound...
also how you can control the scale of the movement? the footbal fiel is smaller than the other drawings (ie the streets they draw) and the car follows the way right with different scales...thats wrong.
also in some parts you can see the other arm of the womens behind the table...
    ...they dont joke to me

Hi Juan, please read my comment above.

i already read it, but most of the poepole thinks thats real, and this is not a prototype, becouse is not a real experiment of the fisical situation, and i told them my point of view, is impossible to create that thing in the way you show it, about a scale problem...
  • Superflux 1 year ago
you are right, its not a prototype of the physical situation, we were prototyping the 'experience' of the interaction. The idea was to get a 'sense' of how it might feel to play with an object like this.

I feel so deceived, so betrayed, knowing nothing about programming you really tricked into thinking there was such an awesome toy. I was willing to pay anything! Now I just feel hatred in my heart.

fake. More like it's controlled by magnets under the table.
  • Jon Ardern 11 months ago
Its not "fake" its "a concept video". Its not claiming to be a really product.
