I got a chance to try out the new Vinten Vision Advanced System tripod heads to see how much of an improvement they were over the old Vision line.

Watch the review to see the improvements...

many, many television and film professionals use vinten tripods and heads everyday. philip and i are just two of the most vocal users! nice presentation.

liked the shots of the factory where they manufacture this stuff.

respectfully submitted by tom the vinten mascot.

I always find your reviews informative and useful Philip. Thanks again for the info and presentation. I have traditionally been a Bogen tripod user. But I will definitely check out the Vinten line, thanks!

    Bogen makes tripods? (just kidding...)

Nice review, cool to see the factory, as if its all done by real life people! OMG! :) Also cool you shot it with the Canon.

Actually tried a bunch of FSB Sachtlers the other day they have freaky balance. Absolutely no movement when you let go of the camera no matter what the angle.

But will check out the Vinten, need to replace my current slightly wornout Vinten 6. Love the light bubble and yep mine still works after 6 years.

Not to spoil more fun but in 25+ years of video I never had a locknut break or wear out on me, but its cool they supply spares.

What windscreen were you using? The foam one that came with the H4n?

I have to buy a new tripod too if I buy the Panasonic HPX300. Sigh.. I have a Sachtler FSB6, but i don't think it'll hold up if i start loading up the HPX300.

What Vinten would work well with this camera?

I'm using the non-AS version and I'm happy to say the perfect balance works just as well as on the new one. Great tripod.... smooooooth.
