Throughout soccer's long history there have been various revolutions within its gameplay just when we thought nothing else could be done.
The Dutch brought us Total Football. The Spanish the "Tiki-Taka." And Brasil danced around the pitch and turned it from soccer into the Joga Bonita, or the beautiful game.
But in 2012 the United States made it's contribution to the game. We stopped being the little brother the world picked on, and put a truly American mentality to it. With technology and determination, the MLS would be tracking metrics of all it's players starting with the 2012 all-star game against Chelsea FC.
So during the 2012 Eurocup we put them and the whole of Europe on notice, and let them all know that Smart Soccer was coming.
