The BLM manages 8.4 million surface acres and the USFS manages 14.3 million acres in Colorado. As of now, these lands are available for a variety of recreational uses; such as hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing, hiking and camping; along with other authorized uses such as livestock grazing, timber harvest and mineral development.
The Romney / Ryan ticket intends to sell much of Federal land to private interests. Access would be lost. It is unlawful to enter private lands in Colorado without permission of the landowner. Colorado law does not require private lands to be marked, fenced or posted in any manner. Trespass in Colorado may be prosecuted as a misdemeanor or as a felony.
