Watch this video about the Jane Goodall Institute's Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Center (TCRC) in the Republic of Congo. Founded in 1992, TCRC is the largest chimpanzee sanctuary in Africa. Today, TCRC is home to more than 150 chimpanzees, victims of the illegal commerical bushmeat trade. This video is the first of a five-part series that documents the long-awaited expansion of the sanctuary, which will provide the Tchimpounga chimpanzees with a more natural forest home.
