A short film directed, shot and edited by Heidi Trudinger.
The Black Saturday Bush-fires in Victoria, February 2009, were Australia's biggest 'natural' disaster. 173 people lost their lives, several thousand houses were destroyed and many others damaged. 1,100,000 acres were burned, an enormous area of land.
This film takes just one element of the event, the little things people found in the wreckage of their homes and kept. It tells the stories of these people and their relics.
This low budget film, made possible with a small grant from the Shire of Murrindindi and VBRRA , is my first documentary.
