Treat yourself to an exciting and intriguing evening on laughter with artists and scientists. We will be getting to grips with a dazzling array of laughter and exploring the unexpected ways it appears in art, the body and the mind.
'Treats on Laughter' will be a striking and stimulating way to make your imagination double up and get your curiosity rolling in the aisles.
'Treats on Laughter' is produced and hosted by Hester Aardse and Astrid Alben from PARS and came about with the financial support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
PARS was founded by Astrid Alben and Hester Aardse and collects the thought notations of those artists and scientists who shape the way we perceive the world today. PARS does this through the publication series 'Findings on...' and the events series 'Treats on...', thus compiling an atlas of creative thinking.
The event will feature talks, performances and work by:
Sophie Scott, cognitive neuroscientist: Laughter in the Mirror
A L Kennedy, writer and stand-up comedian: For Better for Worse, starring Mark Nathan.
Mark Greenaway, pioneering chef: Curling Lips
Robin Dunbar, evolutionary psychologist: Why We Laugh
Harish Chavda, laughter yoga therapist: Let's Laugh!
