In an effort to help the poor, Muhammad Yunus started lending small amounts of money, also known as microcredit. That effort turned into a bank, which is currently helping 8 million women. As he saw the other problems they faced including a lack of healthcare, education and energy, he created other business solutions, which he calls “social business.” When he set out to help others, he never imagined the impact he’d have.
