Time Lapse of the making of a LensCoat for the Canon Ef 1200mm f5.6 L USM Lens
6 months ago
I recently had the opportunity to film with my good friend Art Howard, the making of a LensCoat for this rarest of lenses.
Art and I got to spend a day with Scott Elowitz, owner of LensCoat.com and his crew while they manufactured, by hand, a few LensCoats for this very unique lens. We were on hand to record the event.
This is one big lens, with a BIG price to match. The lens weighs in at 36.4 lbs, and measures 32.9 inches!
The price you ask? A measly $120,000. No typo there, yes, one hundred and twenty thousand dollars!
Where can you buy this most excellent piece of glass? The used equipment department at B&H Photo Video, where else?
This specific unit is rumored to have arrived at B&H from "some government agency."
Visit wildnaturephoto.com for more upcoming videos and information on the amazing Canon EF 1200mm f5.6 L USM lens!
All footage shot with a Canon 5D MarkII, and Canon EF 24-105 f4 L, Canon EF 17-40 f4 L and Canon EF 70-200 f4 L lenses.
