The old Maternity Block at the City General Hospital is where a quarter of a million people first saw the light of day. Soon, it will become a part of North Staffordshire’s history as it is demolished to make way for a new complex as part of the transformation of the hospital site.

The City General Hospital’s Maternity Block will be demolished in 2009 when the new Maternity Centre opens. Rebirth will bring together performing artists, creative writers, photographers, visual artists, hospital staff, students, and the wider community to celebrate, document and explore this transformational moment in the regeneration of North Staffordshire.
