See all Show me
Dug up some footage that I shot back in January when me and my friends took a trip down to Tokyo to visit the Auto Salon. This particular video was of the D1 demo that was held at the salon this year. I don't remember seeing much coverage on this event so I figured I'd post up what i had. I have been unable to edit this footage until now due to computer complications. I know its late but here it is anyways.

Great video, but the music doesn't flow, and is to loud.

Yea man no problem. What im starting to notice is people are straying away from using fast upbeat music for drift videos are now using slower tempo music that flows with the video itself. Now, it might not be your favorite song, but it just "fits" the video better. Watch some of Josh Herron's and Luke Huxham videos (Running Life)

definitely one of my favorite videos of all time. i believe that particular track was made just for that video by Ekstrak. i have a hard time finding good music, that is probably one of the things that i need to work on the most.

music wise. even though the new trend is to go with slower tempo songs. there are still many who use faster paced music. find what suits you and your style. i look to josh and will for ideas when im shooting video. however, it works just as well with faster music as it does with slower. find what works for you.

as far as camera work goes. you did a really good job with keeping the camera steady. might i suggest using the environment around you to your advantage. im sure having the whole area packed with fans didnt help much, but shooting just barley over or under railings might add a bit of pazzaz. again. i use will and josh as a reference. see the type of shots they get and see how you can apply that style to your videos.

    other then that. good job:-)

thanks for the tips man, that's some really good info. this was actually a few days after i picked up the camera and it was the first event i had ever shot. at this point in time i didnt even know who josh and will were. i try to take pointers from their videos but i dont think i will ever produce anything on that level.

ahahaha. i thought the same thing. im working on a video right now that will be similar. but with my style of editing/music involved lol. it should be pretty awesome. i have seen people go from their first day with a camera and not knowing how to work the zoom button properly to producing videos that look like feature film quality. with enough practice, patience, time, and devotion, you can produce something equally amazing just like will, and josh
