17. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX1 handheld HD video with zoo…

A 45 second unmodified handheld HD video taken with the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX1, using its 1080 Fine mode. The camera was using its default settings including Image Stabilisation set to continuous.
The HX1 has a 20x optical zoom range equivalent to 28-560mm and you'll see a demonstration of this during the clip. The clip starts and ends with the camera fully-zoomed out.

I have a raw HX1 clip on my Vimeo album, that was shot with a 1.7X telextender, using 720p, which I think looks sharper on the HX1, than the 1080p mode. It's at full zoom of a total of 952mm, most of the time. The HX1 gives a basic 640mm at full zoom, in 1080p video mode and 560mm in 720p mode.

With respect for dSRL-s, l'am still prefering "all in one" camera for capturing stills and clips from our travels.
As Canon user since first poweshot 10 ten years ago,
SX1 was my logical choice, but reading your reviews and looking this clips on Vimeo helps me to see that
HX1 will better fit my needs....
....after all I think you know very well that processing and uploading clips is very time consuming thing :)

I'll make some guitar class videos with HX1 and share soon as possible. Sorry about my poor english folks!
I was looking just for quality and detail. Since it is next to impossible to have 4 HD screens parallel running the 4 videos simultaneously I did the next best thing. I grabbed comparable frames and compared them.
In the end to check my findings I checked the histograms from the frames too.
