Earlier this year I made a short film about Hobart based shaper Nick Stranger.
Recently I received an email from music composer, Sophie Green, with with the request to compose a fresh score for the film.
The next day I found it waiting in my inbox.
An extract from Sophie's email:
"I was very impressed with your short film and found it quite beautiful. The pace was very melodic which helped to create the phrasing and expression in my music. The imagery was stunning with the slow waves and hazy, afternoon sun – just the style of film I’ve always imagined composing for. I particularly liked the last scene of the changing starry sky just before the credits and the story being told throughout made it very personal.
I don’t really know anything about surfing or the making of surfboards however I did learn a little from the film and felt a strong connection with the familiar footage of the waves and the essence of Tasmania. This I am sure will be felt by other viewers."
