Parts of the Romanian countryside are filled with vineyards. Wine has long been a part of the culture of Europe, but most Americans don't think of Romania when they consider European wines. They've heard of the wines of France, Spain, and Italy; but believe it or not, Romanian wines are poised to make a surge onto the global market. So we went into the Romanian countryside to uncork the story of Romanian wine.

John is a graduate student at the University of Illinois College of Media, seeking a master's degree in Journalism. He is also a lecturer in the Department of Journalism at the University of Illinois, teaching television newscast production and television reporting classes. John also produces for WILL-TV, the PBS affiliate in Urbana, Illinois.
