I first met with Brittany and Dave at Nautical Bean and I remember thinking two things: 1) These two are absolutely perfect for each other and 2) I hope, hope, hope I get to capture their wedding. Since I’m writing this, it’s pretty obvious that the second wish came true, but I had no idea how right I was about the first.
Since my bromance with Cameron Ingalls is still as alive as ever, we decided to tag-team their Santa Margarita engagement shoot so Brittany and Dave could get a feel for the epicness (yes, that’s a real word… maybe) that was about to go down. This is where I got my second glimpse at the ridiculously awesome love shared between these two. Aside from being friggin’ gorgeous fitness instructors, there was this unexplainable joy that brought a new sense of life and beauty to them when they stepped into each other’s arms. It’s what makes me love this job so much… that in marriage, there is a sum that’s greater than its individual parts. This was no exception.
As a stream bubbled between the ancient, moss-covered oaks at Lago Giuseppe, Brittany was greeted with smiles and tears of joy as she made her way down the aisle. Here, in a moment of honesty and love, they exchanged personal vows through watery eyes and bursts of laughter. I think you’d need to check your pulse if you weren’t moved by how deeply they expressed their commitment to one another. And it only got better!
From a surprise flash mob for Dave, to an incredible meal prepared by La Donna Dolce, to the spun music from Chris Clark, to one of the most insanely beautiful and teary-eyed last dances I’ve ever seen, this was a day I felt honored to capture through the lenses of our cameras. I only hope it does justice to the sweet awesomeness that is Brittany + Dave. Enjoy.
