After 5 days of continuos rain in Millinocket, ME the conditions were perfect for a weekend of white water rafting. I cant remember the exact cfs flow rate of the Penobscot that day but had it been 300 ticks higher, they would have suspended trips for the day. PERECT!
We had a 6 hour drive back to Boston on Sunday so it was easy to pass on Katadhin and summit South Turner Mountain instead. The wildlife in Baxter Park is like nothing I had ever seen and the views are second to none. I never knew Maine had such rugged terrain.
This is a trip I plan on taking every spring.
