This winter I've been working to become a better snowboarder. Over the weekend, I went to Vail, Colorado and made more aggressive attempts to learn how to jump well.
The most effective method, I've found, is to just keep trying, little by little, higher and higher, until you get it right. By the end of the weekend, I was getting pretty good air and landing consistently. The next challenge was turning 180 in the air. I tried for a day to stick the landing, but wasn't able to do it before I had to leave. I am hoping there is one good weekend of snow left so that I can go riding Upstate and do it right.
This clip shows my closest attempt.
It embarasses me because I am flailing my arms and it doesn't seem like I jumped very high. In the moment, however, I was thrilled.
