"To juke" is to dance, to whoop it up, to play the blues. Blues culture developed in the Mississippi Delta as a response to the incredibly difficult and unfair existence of the Black population there. JUKE was shot in and around the Delta town of Greenville, and includes footage of the 1997 annual Delta Blues & Heritage Festival.
Featuring T-Model Ford, Farmer John, and John Horton, this 27-minute music documentary takes a look at the lives of some blues musicians in Greenville today, the juke joints that are still hopping, and the blues festival where all come together once a year to juke.
