“Design is thinking made visual.” Based on this quote, my idea is to explore the boundaries of traditional and digital media, and show that the two are inseparable to the design and thinking process.
This is an animatic about a digital designer who faces a difficult design problem and instead of staring at the blank screen he decides to change his role from a digital thinker to a traditional one. The tree that erupts from a drop of ink from his fountain pen is symbolic of an idea developing and maturing into something far more spectacular than what he began with. When faced with a problem, try to take a different approach and you will be rewarded.
Artwork painted in Adobe Photoshop, animation done in Adobe After Effects.
