Says it's just a way to give good third-party apps some love.
Snippety-snippet: "Something that we don't do a good job of at Twitter is showing people these wonderful applications; we kind of leave it up to people to find them on their own which isn't great for users or for the developers who are making the applications."
He also suggests one day they may put apps in there that pay for placement, in which case thay'll be clearly marked "Sponsored."
