With all of the fanfare surrounding Sony's new camera brigade, I asked myself … Is it even possible to create content using technology that is more than five years in age? To find the answer I went down by the river and shot my baby with the Sony HVR-V1U / DR60 combo, which was all the rage in 2006. I shot progressive scan 24A (slow-mo shot 60i, and conformed in After Effects). The footage was transcoded from HDV to Pro Res on the import to remove the 2:3 pull-down and I used the two-way color corrector in FCP for minor adjustments.
Soundtrack provided by Neil Young.
