The JFK assassination is the seminal media spectacle, transforming visual culture forever. Abraham Zapruder's use of an 8mm camera and vernacular perspective collides with John F. Kennedy's celebrated and often mediated political persona, creating a deeply tragic moment that continuously inhabits the American collective consciousness. This work attempts to intervene with the excessive mediation of JFK's assassination in order to focus on the most human aspect of the Zapruder Film: Jackie Kennedy's visceral reaction to her husband's corporeal condition.
