Ugh. Miserable day of disappointment. I didn't get as far as I wanted in either word count or plot. I also felt my writing was very lackluster, and a tent pole moment in the story felt sort of shallow. But hey, at least it's still moving forward right? In the parlance of one of my characters introduced today....it goes.
“It’s not really an important thing for you to understand. Understand? I can’t stay here with you for very long, and there are probably more important things for us to talk about. There are bound to be more important questions for you to be asking me. Perhaps if we searched for them together, we can find the ones that truly matter. Does that suit you?” Benjamin wanted to inquire as to why Gadbeau couldn’t stay. He wondered if that was a more important question. He decided that it was, but the funny man countered his inquiry with another dodge. “You’re searching for important questions,” the funny man began, “and yet you’re asking about my nature. It seems that since I am, in fact, not where you are, you’d be more concerned about your being where you are. What convinced you to follow the inconsistency?”
