When Allan Whiter first arrived at Boydtown with his family in 1936, the Seahorse Inn was in a state of near ruin after decades of neglect and vandalism. Allan’s father Richard had a dream to restore the derelict estate to its former glory, and establish a holiday park.
Allan and his brother Arthur learnt almost every trade there was working on the building, an enormous task that took two decades to complete.
