Mini making of.
This was a quicky. FumeFX explosion elements for a TV show pilot of "The Asset" from the producers of "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles". Done for Encore Hollywood.
The setup is rather simple. Fuel emission over a few frames then an object source with a noise modifier that emits heat and expands very fast and contracts back to zero again. Lots of object velocity introduced by the sphere that pushes the explosion out the doors and windows along with expansion in the fuel when it ignites.
The elements were comped with real footage hence the rather low simulation grid quality. Also this was done in less then 3 days total on the side including all iterations! LowRes is easy and easy is fast and fast delivers :D Renderings were delivered in 2K with all FusionWorks render elements (Fire,Smoke,Depth).
