The ageing population will increase dramatically in the coming years. In 2040, one in three people will be older than 65 years in the Netherlands. As a result, we will be facing enormous challenges. Modern society promised a decent life from cradle to grave for all. But financially and socially we cannot afford or want that kind of collective welfare arrangements any longer. So, how to age gracefully? How can we maintain our individuality and live a meaningful life? What has to change in our cities, in our homes, in our mentality, and in our regulations, considering ageing not as economic burden but as value and valuable in an inclusive society?
Featuring: Cretien van Campen, Deane Simpson and Caro van Dijk. The evening was moderated by Arjen Oosterman from Volume magazine.
