This is an experiment to see what my "Derby streets by car" videos would be like if I did them in HD format. Perhaps in a few years when high speed broadband becomes standard then this is the way forward.
This video is not realtime, its speed up between 2 and 4 times normal speed. I sped it up in Sony Vegas by holding the control key down while moving the right side of the clip end marker to the left.
The journey starts in Costco car park near the Wyvern and goes through Pride Park then towards town and ends at Bridge Street. You can see the new Jurys Inn Hotel on King Street and all the work being done around the Seven Stars pub. Also you can see the Riverlights developement and Bus Station area.
Andy's Driving videos around Derby, Derbyshire, UK :
Are you an ex-pat of Derby, feeling homesick? Or perhaps you just want a clear way of giving someone directions to a location in Derby or just want to show people your Derby Street. Well in this video and the many others I have made, you will be able to take a virtual drive around the city of Derby's streets as though you were in the driving seat. I use a dash-mounted camera, Traffic lights and heavy traffic have been edited out.
This is one of a series of Derby journeys. Subscribe if you want to keep up with the latest ones.
To see my original "Derby Streets by car" collection start with the first one here :
This video was filmed with a Toshiba Camileo Pro HD camcorder which is dirt cheap and hence is lacking in features, as you can see the auto-focus tends to hunt back and forth even in good illumination. Not very wide angle view.
It does not even have a lens cap but it does record in 1280x720 mp4 format.
