Prototype of a rotating window shade, which creates moire patterns as it rotates. It uses a unipolar step motor, motion sensor, six position switch, and Arduino UNO. The wooden parts created a lot of friction which was difficult for the shade to overcome. Were we to make another prototype, it would be with acrylic, and the turning dowels would have gears that fit into perforations on the side of the screen, turning it like film.

This was a mid-term project for Intro to Physical Computing at ITP, part of the Tisch School of Arts at NYU.
