Bert Wrout is one of the lucky ones. He's the survivor of a gangland shooting. Bert was drinking with good mate Lewis Moran at the Brunswick Club in 2004 when two gunmen burst through the door, killing Moran and wounding Wrout. Moran died where he lay but Wrout was rushed to hospital and despite dying twice on the operating table managed to recover from his injuries. It was the middle of Melbourne's bloody underworld war - a tit-for-tat war over the lucrative amphetamines market that would ultimately claim almost 30 victims. Today, Wrout lives a relatively quite life and rarely gives interviews. In this short film he opens up about the moments leading up to the shooting; the demise of "old-school" criminals and his newly-released book Kill The Morans.
