“I cannot change the wind, but I can adjust my sail.”
Going through thirty-three radiation treatments and eight round of chemotherapy upon being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002, Cookie defines herself as “a breast cancer thriver, not only survivor.” Now a leader of her own program, Chemoflage, she teaches women how to put on an eyebrow and line their eyes so that they feel great. A strong believer of living in the moment and eliminating any negativity, Cookie speaks of the beauty of life post cancer treatment and how the experience has enriched her. She now enjoys giving back to the community with her program and enforces her motto: “when there is a storm, don’t wait for it to pass, learn to dance in the rain.”
