THIS IS...

"We’re all amazed by Ken Block’s latest Gymkhana video, but there is an undercurrent of those that feel the real drifting scene started underground and that is where the real stars are. This video by Format67 is a return to the “running from the cops” days for most of us, when we would find an empty parking lot, have our fun and quickly dart away before getting in trouble." i really enjoy all the opening style, cuts, fades, music, scratches...this and text promise a lot...but finally driving scene were below expectation - just few donuts and some parking driving... P.S. imo all this Ken vid sucks...
anyway, love tones and all post work

After seeing the trailer I knew it will be great !!!
Perfect work as usual format67 !!!!
But whats wrong with a Ken block ? and all I saw was some short slides and donut. Really was expecting more agresive stuff !
  • FORMAT67.NET 5 months ago
there is nothing wrong with him, he is a great driver. but i would like to show that he is no god. the people from the streets can do things similar like him on public locations and they have no sponsors, they build there own cars, and they pay there own hard working money for their tyres.
  • Will Gentile 5 months ago
Surely sounds like a discredit to Block who has no doubt some talent behind the wheel, as well as the hard work involved in starting his own company that no doubt allowed him to partake in what he does as a driver. No glory comes without hard work.

the hate on an awd that can, is sillier than the drifting. The goal of masterful control would indeed be in an AWD. It is like they mimick me as a kid in the snow in the 1980s with a v8 RWD car..the most common handling failure known was a plenty. What do these people think they are marketing? It is so very silly. The vids character, it is also stolen...allow me to remember and post again. Maybe it was something onj a web page..called hell.com, that is long gone now isn't it...

Whatever you're smoking, I want some! Hahaha, that (^^^^^^^) made no sense at all hahaha.

On another note, I appreciate the film and it's message but didn't connect with the amount of camera movement, props though.

Obviously impressive driving right there. But maybe for such an anti-ken block vid, might have wanted to step it up a bit?
Editing was great, if only a little over-edited. 1:20 intro for a 3:40 video seems a little excessive in my opinion.

Excellent cinematography, the motion graphics work and sound design was extremely well done. My only gripe is I was hoping for more of a pay-off at the end since you built it up like a story, other than that: it was first class.

    Nice!

  • Matt Haase 4 months ago
This is no evidence of a good driver.

This is no ability to "drift" your car to the right.

This is no way to impress people that can actually drive.

Sorry, but as much of an attention whore as Ken Block may be, at least he can actually drive. This is just a sad attention grab. The ONE little half-second clip where the car is sliding to the right it looks like it's the middle of a spin.

"there is an undercurrent of those that feel the real drifting scene started underground"

Okay, by using this as your video description, even though it's someone else's words, you validate them as your own.

First, KEN BLOCK'S VIDEO WAS NOT A *DRIFT* VIDEO and he's NOT A DRIFTER.

Secondly, DUH, drifting was started underground. Who the hell doesn't know that already? The origins of drifting are mentioned in just about every media clip about a drift event. We know it.

Your video skills are far beyond dumb "attack" videos like this. Grow up a little.

Amazing editing and filming but the driving is horrible.

Just because you can film better then Ken Block's guys can doesnt mean you can drive better then him.

Just a little tip to anyone watching and hating on the video

THIS IS NO KEN BLOCK = WE ARE NOT AS GOOD AS HIM

THIS IS NO IMPREZA = OUR CAR CAN'T MATCH HIS

WE DON'T WEAR DC'S = ARE ARE NOT AS FAMOUS AS HIM

Am I the only one who sees them admitting that they are not better than him, yet they like the sport to it ground roots? Seriously people, use your brain to THINK, not to sprout hate and faceless fanboyism.
  • Chad Hunter 4 months ago
Is that why its changes to "We dont need DC's", "We dont need AWD"?

Why dont you use your brain to think...

Yeah it looked beautiful, but the action shots were just boring, and...it's not even necessarily that they were boring, but to hate on Block (don't attempt to say you're not), and then not pull through with any skilled driving... is just a let down.

And to say that he didn't work his ass off to get where he is today is ignorant as well... I'm sure DC was just an instant over night success, and it didn't take him years of his life to get it off the ground, and it sure does suck that he's enjoying the payoff from his hard work,

and he's giving a lot of good light to non-Nascar automotive sports like Rally America etc...

Great video but definitely not Ken Block worthy. These two videos/scenes should not be compared. Block is a Gymkhana master which is about precision and skill. Drifting in a parking lot isn't anything special at all. Thanks for sharing this. Keep it clean kids

it be cooler if you had more cameras running on sync. the slow mo wasnt done properly as you can see a ghosting effect unless that was intended. i already know that it wasnt shot on an hvx or in 60. but anyways good look of colors and depth.
