Known for their unique take on bluegrass, western swing, hillbilly and straight up rock n’ roll, Melbourne’s much Loved trio The ReChords, return with a brand new single under their belt entitled, ‘Don’t Know Much’ and debut accompanying video!
The track was produced by Lindsay Gravina from Birdland Studios and sees the band taking on a new musical direction, whilst remaining true to their trademark sound. Formed in 2009 over a mutual love of roots / Americana records, the band have since developed a live show as engaging as their music, complete with all the authentic touches you’d expect to see from a rockabilly three piece of the late 50’s / early 60’s. To celebrate their brand new release, the band will launch the new single at the Northcote Social Club on Friday 12th October, 2012 with support from The Ska Vendors. Punters will receive a free digital download copy of the new single PLUS a link to view the premier release of the music video for ‘Don’t Know Much’. “I found myself smiling for the whole set and when I turned around I noticed the whole audience doing exactly the same thing” – Richard Moffat (‘Way Over There’)
"One our favorite Melbourne bands in recent times. Great musicians, great songs, great showmen. It’s western swing, hillbilly, country -‐ pure rock n roll. A refreshingly deep take on American roots rock usually occupied by forgettable haircut bands." -‐ Woody McDonald (21st Meredith Music Festival -‐ Festival Booker)
As noted above, it originally began back in August 2009 for this trio, about one year on from there and The ReChords released their debut album “ON THE WAGON” on a brand new local label, Bundoora Records containing 15 tunes, 9 original tracks and 6 obscure vintage covers from their combined musical collections. The following year, in 2011, they embarked on their very first international tour taking in 2 major ‘Roots’ festivals and 8 smaller sideshows through Germany, Belgium, The Nederlands and Spain, all self-funded and self-organized. Whist in Berlin, the band spent 3 days in Lightining Recording Studio laying down 10 more tracks all on Vintage Valve Equipment going straight to tape and from this session a Limited Edition 7” Vinyl EP will be released sometime in Oct 2012. And watch out Europe, the boys will be returning around May/June 2013.
