Every week for the last 22 years, scientists at the NOAA field site at Marshall Mesa in Boulder, Colo. have been launching an ozonesonde into the atmosphere. Although simple in design, the device records important data on atmospheric ozone levels and informs scientific knowledge on the hole in the ozone layer.
We had the privilege of witnessing this successful launch earlier this month.
