With semi-trucks rumbling by in the background, the railroad executive admitted he didn’t believe Ohio could build a bypass to the CSX rail hub in just two years. “I’ll be the first to admit I laughed,” Clarence Gooden, executive vice president of CSX, said about his reaction to being told the bypass would be done sooner than first expected. But despite his doubts, on Monday the $5.7 million bypass around North Baltimore was dedicated in front of local and state officials, including Gov. John Kasich.
