Robocanes is a five member team of robots that can learn from experience, make split-second decisions and communicate with one another. In other words, they are completely autonomous.
The goal of this project is to use soccer as a platform for the robots to learn to act in real-time, dynamic, and adversarial environments, explains Ubbo Visser, associate professor of computer science at UM College of Arts and Sciences, who leads the team that develops the RoboCanes software.
