Just a little video explaining how helpful hooping has been to me in the last three months.

Don't laugh, I am still not very good at this.

Music is "Keep Breathing" by Ingrid Michaelson.

Hi Lissa that was a beautiful insight into your hooping experience. I certainly think that you are graceful with your hooping, more than you realised. You have mastered many more move than I had managed after three months :)

If you haven't already done so, you should visit Hoop City, the online hooping community, and enter this video into SaFire's competition that is all about what hooping means to you.

    Keep up the hooping x

Oh, gosh, Sally...thank you so much. It is hard to believe that I can be graceful, especially when I have just spent two days whacking myself in the ear. :)

No, truly, thank you. I really appreciate it. I might look into joining that community. I've learned much from Sandra's videos! She is so brilliant.

Oh Lissa, I had tears in my eyes from the beginning and before long they were flowing down my face. What a beautifully done video-the filming, editing, the words, sharing yourself, your dance, the music. So heartwarming to hear that you you have found your path, enjoy the journey

Kay! Thank you for your beautiful words. I am so beside myself that my little story has touched so many people. I was glad to share it, especially if it ever helps anyone else who is as lost as I was. Thank you, thank you again. You are wonderful.

Wow! That was awesome, Lissa. You have mastered so many moves in such a short time and your dancing history shows. Very cool. I also found relief (finally!!!) from my stress and depression by discovering the hoop. I am an ultra-beginner and a bit clumsy, but it was like a door opening. It's amazing the happy magic a hoop can bring into one's life. Keep hooping!

Isn't it awesome? A simple plastic circle...but it's brought thousands of us so much hope and joy. I'm so grateful I found it. And THANK YOU for your gorgeous comment. Hooping has shown me for the first time how truly time and practice make...well, closer to perfect. :) So keep it up!

    Hi Lissa-
I created an account just to leave a comment( I NEVER do that ;))
I saw ur link on baldylocks.blogspot.com/

Your video brought tears...the song was beautiful and so fitting!
I have to disagree w/ u though, u are graceful and quite impressive to watch. I don't know anything about 'hooping', except that I suck at it ;) but I was in awe of how wonderfully you danced. u certainly don't appear to be new at this!
Keep it up, I'm so happy for you that you have found such a powerful outlet, thank you for sharing :)

I can say that it seems to help that I have neither children nor a big social life *L* I have SO MUCH spare time in which to hoop; that with my experience in dance and flag corps seems to be helpful.

Thank you SO MUCH. Give hooping another try if you aren't already!

I am so glad to be an inspiration; this video has far surpassed the feeble expectations I had for it (i.e. I wanted my friends to like it and I hoped it would help SOMEONE who needed it)...all the beautiful comments make me cry, yours included! Thank you so much.

I used to hoop back in the 1960s and stopped...
For the past year I've struggled with depression also. Your dance with the hoop brought back the memories of the joy I felt doing it as a child - I'm going to look for a hoop and try this again. Thank you so much for this inspiration.
