Cumbria is diverse, striking in its beauty and proud of its deep cultural heritage. This film focuses on different communities living in and outside of the national park. It celebrates the Cumbrian landscape from the summits of the highest mountains to the industrial foundation of the low lying urban areas. A social, economic and cultural exploration of Cumbria and its characters.

In memory of my friend Mike Pryzgrodzki.

Splintered pinnacles pushed up
Through rolling earth
Peel down with weight immeasurable

A titan force has shaped this land
Our land
A creeping inexorable grind

To tidal flats the lifeblood runs
Cuts deep its course
Like glass to careless hand

Mountains mirrored in hewn stone
Spill skyward spoil
In curling drafts

Lake and stone is blood and bone
This place is me
My home my home
